“Bagatelle! Bagatelle!” she cried
Through the crowded city streets
As blurs of people passed her bye
Rushing, pushing, shoving, going nowhere
to work, to school
to dull empty hollow walls
to caged boxes
of traps
of chains
of locks
“Bagatelle! Bagatelle!” she cried
Between the battle front lines
As one by one soldiers died
Falling, bleeding, maiming, failing to create
a just cause
a means to peace
a lasting freedom
from deception
from redemption
from corruption
“Bagatelle! Bagatelle!” she cried
Upon the cold cruel graveyard
Where wasted life upon wasted life now lied
Regretting, bemoaning, lamenting the choices of life
a use of time
an empty success
a conditional love
for coworkers
for friends
for family

Wow, this is so unique! I've never read anything like it. It's fresh and new, something to ponder on, something to add to one's vocabulary. Your imagery is excellent and I like the layout as well. Great job! Keep up the awesome job and good luck in all you do!

And then one day we'll awaken, and realize the important role we all play in each other's lives, and how none of us can stand alone for long, that we all live and day as a species, not as individuals...
