A Measured Love

We’ve tried it too fast
we’ve tried it too slow
it is plain to see
we need a measured love.

Nothing too fancy
just simple and pure
like a rose for you
when I am here.

Nothing too mushy
and I don’t like the raunchy
more like squeezing a melon-
metaphorically pleasing.

So here’s to a stanza
of measured love
nothing too burning
nothing too freezing.

A love that is needed
away from our norm
to give us a new world
to exist in, loved and adored.

I thought not enough about
what our relationship needs
back then when we were together
and our hearts would bleed.

I’m glad that is over
and I’m beginning to see
a measured love
is what we need.

I thought I commented on this before i know I read it, and I love it, though I feel love is love and it goes the way it wants, it shouldnt be tames or pickes at or played with, just to set naturaly in whatever situation it is in,,, just my thoughts, wonderful write, however, you are right, caution can be useful

We all need love. That much is true. Though some of us need more than others and for good reason. To receive love from another is truly a great gift. For you have been given a piece of their heart and that is priceless. Treasure that gift for eternity! For one to give another a piece of their heart is not an easy thing to do.

A beautiful write that is most sincere and very touching.

    Blessings

Well, mum, your son is not quite out of the pickle he landed himself in, and in no small part due to erroneous conventional wisdom! (Internet flings are FUN and harmless!!!) (yeah, right!!!!), so this piece is one of many still trying to make sense of it all and patch things up... can't wait to hear your sage motherly lectures!

To have and offer but a genuine love
A healthy love is but a foundation for something truly grand. May this type love be returned and shared by someone with similar felt sentiments as what you two do have will surely become unshakable

For some reason, as I read through these lines, there was this silly song bouncing thriugh my head, you know the one... "I wanna be loved by you... by you and nobody else but you"... Yeah, I know I'm weird but that's why we get along so well! This is very sweet Wayne and wise words to live by. We all need love. Some of us need larger doses that others and some are more capable of providing larger doses than others. It all works out well in the end if you are paired with the right people, they fill in the gaps where you are lacking and you in turn do the same for them. A good deal all around for everyone really. Love ya Babe!
