Love

They say to find the love of your life is to find the missing part of you that you never knew was missing.  What happens when you find that missing part and then you have to give it up?  Now you have something to miss that if you had never found you would never know to miss it.  But the fact remains that now a part is in fact missing and that fact brings tears to my eyes.  I walk among people yet I feel alone.  I lay at night and cry myself to sleep.  To say that the pain caused by losing the love that was once unknown makes me regret having ever loved would be a lie.  I can truly say with the great poet Alfred Lord Tennyson, "Tis better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all."  The memories that once brought smiles to my face now return to me, though sadness soon follows.  I try to be strong as I struggle to keep the pieces of my shattered heart together.  Will I ever love another?  That only time can tell though I would now say never as before.  The Lord still has me in His hands even though it feels as though I am plummeting to the ground.  I trust in Him for He truly is the only one wholly trustworthy.  He is who truly gives me strength.  Without Him I would have no reason to go on.  So in conclusion, do not be afraid to love but first warn your heart that pain may come, then decide carefully whom you will give your love to.
