upon our baby's dresser

Upon Our Baby’s Dresser

Afternoon pastels
Of a shaded love-
Across a veiled room
Our photograph holds
A time sleeping
With such a slow breath.
-that graceful hesitation
Captured in the grip
-that moment
Held out, like a brittle bone-
To I, who hang my head under
The sudden weight of
Our photograph
-across the
veiled room.
