take a chill pill, Jill

take a chill pill, Jill
lay it back, Jack
don't sweat the small stuff, when it gets rough
just be cool, fool
don't let the "whether" get the better of you

just be slick, Rick
and be the man, Dan
it'll all be nice,if you put it on ice
take it to the palace, Alice
don't cry a river over a little sliver

if it ain't worth a shit, don't give one
or as the Romans say
ILLEGITIMI NON CARBORUNDUM
"don't let the bastards get you down"

Ahhhh. I could hear the music in the background and was trying to sing it in melody...LOL...that was very cute. Good luck in the contest, been a while since I have been on, had to check on my friends...Shawn

As I read through this, I found myself humming that old Paul Simon tune.. 50 ways to leave your lover.. and I must say it fit quite well with the scheme in the write.. at least it did in my mind.

Great use of rhyme in this.. which adds up to the kinds of lines that bind in one's mind and serve to remind, of whatever it is they come from..

Very cute, funny. You once again surprised me by breaking out of the mold that I thought you were in. I really liked the poem, but I think you forgot one. Don't forget the immortal words of Terry Pratchett, 'CARPE JUGULUM', (Go for the throat)!
