All is well, it seems,
Today.
She walks toward the waters.
Standing on the high mountain cliffs,
She looks out over the water.
They reflect the snow capped mountains,
The tangerine and pink glow of the sun rise,
And the wispy lavender clouds afloat in the sky.
All is well, it seems,
Except for the rippled disturbance that breaks the glassy surface of the lake.
All is well, it seems,
As she wanders into the ancient forest.
Emerald hues glow within the trees,
And there is warmth in the patches of dappled sun light on the forest floor.
There is silence in the woodland,
All is well, it seems,
Except the rustling of underbrush in the distance.
All is well, it seems,
When she ascends to the peak of the mountain.
Passing trees weighed down by snow,
Great boulders that show their age with scars from the past,
And small indigo flowers braving the cold of the winter.
All is well, it seems,
Except for the fleeting blast of arctic wind that tousles everything about.
All is well, it seems,
Today.
Perfection is not needed,
To see the beauty on a pristine day.
So although in any moment,
Something can go amiss,
Enjoy the magnificent instances when
All is well.

A masterpiece!
Lovely to read, I was hoping for an answer to that which is causing 'the except for...'
but you left it unspecified, and that added to the mystique of the poem!

Talented!
The fragrance and color of the poem really comes through. The natural setting is seductive, as is the need to let go of perfection. -
this was a great write, so natural, nature poems hold a soft spot for me, especially those that are as symbolic as this one was.

exceptionally well written
This is truely a beautiful poem. It makes us realize all that we can be thankful for and appreciate in life. The beauty of nature and peaceful times we can spend with it. I like this poem a lot.

Your first contest poem!!! Excellent! The visuals! The colors! It really paints a lovely picture. And I love the way the title, "All Is Well", follows through from start to finish. It all ties together very nicely. Great job! Best of luck in the contest. I think you have a winner here!
