Maddening Circles

Kept by my own past, real or imagined,
Allowing it to ruin today.
Rather, I would live in silence of
My souls non decay
Away from those who would force their
Knowledge upon me.
All the while living to
Redeem
Myself run
Amuck.
Killing myself with
Attempted amends.
Ridiculously living for what I
Might get instead of simply
All I have to give.
Kindred followings of
Abscessed yesterdays
Reveal that freedom is in
My sowing rather than my
Access to the harvest.

Author notes

Not sure what happened to my notes--somehow the system rejected about half of them so maybe they just needed to be eaten by cyberspace rather than shared.  Probly karma from something

Good poem with a nice message- be great if everyone stopped thinking about their reward and were just nice people!! i like the final few lines best. It took me a couple of readings to get into it, but i think its a really great poem, well written!

Ok. The beginnings must always be... Thanx for entering. Now that I got my 'Karmaic' obligations out of the way... ~is cracking self up~

Short and sweet and right to the point! I like it! I think your choice formatting, makes it a little harder to read, and obscures the flow, but all in all, I'll let that slide.

I think your ideas and surface reflection back past, was a good choice. You really didn't need to go into specifics of your past, to illustrate your now 'current' perspective, on how to live your life. And consequently, I quite agree, that you shouldn't do something with your hand out, but just do it.

The natural way of things, will handle it. Well spoken.

If karmatic isnt a word, it should be . Sort of the gist of the poem, except it is more about a pay it forward attitude. Most of us spend most of our time trying to make good things happen for ourselves by doing good things. We would be a bit more in line with most beliefs that we claim of karmatic type things if we just did good things without thought of the reward. If I live in fear of the punishment I am seeking a reward which gives my life an atmosphere of give to get much like conducting bussiness.

LoL. your author comments cracked me up

    thank you for your entry.

i enjoyed this piece. I had to read it twice to fully understand it. basically what I am grasping is that you are tired of living in fear of things coming back to you... so that's it. you have decided to just live the fullest life you can - regardless of possible karmatic consequence? [is karmatic a word? LoL]

anyway, I liked it. thanks for entering.
