For sale:

One broken heart
                       Unneeded
It harbors too much pain.
    Empty
where fertile dreams used to grow.

She doesn’t want it anymore.
      Can’t bear another cycle
                         of days spent
                               gathering hope
only to have it spilled
on the jagged stones of sorrow.

One heart
          Well cared for.
Ready to nurture a growing child.

Please don’t let it go to waste.
Fill it with the love and affection
                                   that her barren womb
               deprived it of.

For sale:

Its value immeasurable
                       A Mother’s heart.

    Excellent

Wow! So very sad. I would buy your heart if it would help you feel better. Very good poem and I like how you made it like a real ad for something for sale, that I feel is unique.

wonderful! one that we all can relate to. i wish i could just sell my broken heart, never to see it again. i know that it is the worst feeling in the world to be barren. somehow children manage to fill a place in the heart and home, making what once was cold and dismal into something warm and inviting. beautiful poem! you are very talented!

Bravo! I am impressed. I can relate even as a man for I am barren without a wife. I love children and long to have my own. I have had a and have a broken heart.
