Eyes of a Child

The sheer sweet scent of innocence
Lingers in the air
Inquisitive minds
Pose curious thoughts
Untainted by society's darkness
Purity in it's most rare form
Gazing light heartily
Upon the world as it turns
Watching and wondering
As life passes by
Growing in mind,
Body and soul
Longing for knowledge
Yearning to learn
Cascades of rainbow color
Bring life to the greys of the world
As we see it
Simplicity in questions and answers
We do not see
No concept of reality as it's norm
Yet, norm in it's simplest ways
See the good in all
No evil abound in the soul
Curiosity and wonder
Fills the mind
Such complex questions
With the simplest of answers
To blind to see
What lies before us
Yet, something so small and sweet
So simple and pure
Lights the way
The answers and the world
In all it's beauty
Lies simply in
The eyes of a child

I always was fascinated with the purity and innocence of childhood. Not surprising then, if Daoism and Rousseauite philosphy appealed to me back then.

Well. My opinion is very simple. Good Work. This is a simple yet quite complex and not vague at all. The rhythmn may need a little work because some lines are longer than the others but it is very descriptive but not too lengthy and boring like some which make me lose interest. This is a very good poem. Keep it up.
