The Garden (for Alexxis and Freyja)

Once I walked in a Garden of love and light
Once there was warmth on even the coldest night
Once I was happy every minute of the day
Then my love left me, and took my sun away.
And the garden was spoilt the ground burnt and scarred
And the flowers it seemed, perpetually marred
But there were two seeds in that garden which had started to bloom
Now when I see their beauty the sight brightens my gloom
Their light in the darkness outshines that of the sun
And all the pain I've been given seems to be undone.
When they smile it seems all is right with the world
When I walk in the garden with my beautiful girls.
