What a beautiful picture! I just read Amunet's dedication inspired by this haiku, and I can definetly see why she was inspired. This piece is quite outstanding. I can never figure out how people manage to say so much in so few words. I really love this!
Good luck in the contest as well!

"She walks through fragrant air
upon wings of silken mist
reliving life in petaled hues
beneath sunshine's bliss
and as she starts to dance
winds teasing ribbons in her hair
she smiles the brightest smile
as down her cheek slips a lonely tear"
The image your poem conjured in my head. I dedicate it to you and shall call is "Susan's Wisps" How's that? It took my breath and I could not help to smile and giggle just a hint, like a school girl as the fragrance gripped me. This is stunning Susan! Short, powerful and stunning! Blessings, Gypsy

Hehe! I entered that same contest!
I really love this though. Haiku is so beautiful when written well, as you have done! It is something that can have a simple meaning and yet so many meanings. The picture really compliments the poem as well.
Great job and thanks for sharing this.

I really like the first two lines. The third lacks punch - too simplistic. My opinion. Others will disagree, I'm sure.
-
Very nice! A pleasure to read!
I have read that the memory of a fragrance stays with us the longest. That has been true for me..it's always a very pleasant experience... (same as reading your poems).
Love ya, Sis!

A beautiful haiku, Susan
I happen to love them and was not aware of this contest. I hope to enter, not so much to win, though that would be nice, but I like the idea of being among other haiku's, especially when they're as lovely as this one.
Good luck in the contest
