Little Things Mean Alot

Missing image
Little things in life pass us by
never finding the key to the lock
over looking the most obvious
buried in your mind in a box

Fragrance of springtime gardens
colorful rainbows in skies of blue
take time to smell the flowers
God created this wonder for you

Take time to enjoy the laughter
as your child runs and plays
in the blink of an eye he's gone
he leaves the nest to fly away

Give big hugs to your loved ones
hold them just one minute more
show your love in little ways
before they walk out that door

Listen to the robin's sweet song
the snowbird in winter's call
hear the raindrops upon the roof
leaves as they silently fall

Enjoy the little things in life
don't let ambition get in the way
God created a wonderful world
take time to enjoy it each day

Sandy, Very sweet with so much truth in it. time is so short and it is sad that so many people don't take that time (either child or parent) to hold one for that extra minute. to look at an infant now, knowing that my son is all grown up and towers over me by 4 or 5 inches, I can only mutter, "They are never that small", enjoy and acknowledge them allways.
    thanks for sharing!

Hi Sis! This is so true. Everyone today is so busy. They should take a break once in awhile and enjoy the simple pleasures. Bake cookies for your grandchildren, plant some flowers, pick some flowers, take a walk with a friend. Watch a mother bird feeding her young. That's what living is all about. Turn the computer off and give someone you love a big hug or go dance in the summer rain. Great poem. Cute picture. ~ Linny
