Tell Him

That Christmas morn, the snow came down
Like crystal tears of joy
Reminders of a shining heart
Abundantly  employed
Forever giving joyously
To those in greatest need
Please tell him that I see his soul
Completely void of greed

Amidst the fears of tempest torn
In seas of sad regret
This ship prevails through turgid storm
And her journey continues yet
To carry him, the homeward bound
To harbors safe, serene
From whence the song of love resounds
And happiness is gleaned

Upon these decks his chains of life
Will scatter in the breeze
And free his heart to fly once more
To loving arms as these
Please tell him that a love was found
Within poetic grace
This bond we form is so profound
That none could take his place

So tell him when the tear drops fall
They fall on sacred ground
To nurture what grows in his heart
This love that we have found
Fore our poetry will ever live
And the world will always know
Of the precious gifts his heart does give
And tell him I love him so

Author notes

I wrote this after falling in love with a poem by my dearest friend Patrick (repomen79) "Tell Her" allpoetry.com/poem/124238
His words were so prefound that they touched me deeply. And since we are writing partners, I just had to write this piece. Thank you Patrick, for your sweet inspiration.....  (((HUGS)))  UPDATE:  For those of you who didn't know Patrick, He passed away this past spring. I hope you will stop by his pages and enjoy some of his work. You will not be disapointed... And I know Patrick would be thrilled. He always loved to get comments...

Dear Pat, it seems a lot of us are losing our Muse lately, so many have told me the same thing, including my Muse. I wonder where they are going to? Maybe they are on a beautiful desert Island somewhere having a great holiday away from all of us, maybe we've worked them too hard? I will send an SOS out to your Muse as I'd love to see you writing again, she has had a long enough holiday.
I'll always remember you and Patric, I guess we'll always miss him no matter how many years go by.
        Love to you my friend

These is a lot of sweetness and grave you work, also like you said I guess that is a lot emotion your freindship. O want to add this little part "Fore our poetry will ever live" just beacause I think most good tp great poems have lines in them set them apart from other and this was that part/

I know in my heart of hearts, that some people are meant to cross our paths. They become such a part of our lives, a part of the fabric of who we are from that moment on. I can sense this is how it was with you and Patrick.
This is beautifully constructed, Pat, richly worded from the love you have for him and from the depth of your friendship.

    Thank you for sharing.

The word looked into the mirror with Love.
Arent we most joyfuly the stuff of dreams?
The songs the thing, and when we bring,
our love into the song we sing.
Its getting to the point where we are going to do some serious writing. sweetheart. youre answering a poem writen to a women to one written to a man in a style exactly like mine, was both clever and very creative. I read this and it makes me proud of you we're gonna simplify how we write, But we WILL write us a bundle sweety.
I really think that in 35 yrs you'll be doing readings on colledge campus' at10 grand a pop and all the perks.
Ive seen youre poetry change and grow over the course of our collaberations.that you would like me as a poet enough to allow me to have this experiance with you is my fortune and my glory.

The meter in this is brilliant! I read the entire piece out loud twice... there was only one line that didn't quite 'sound' like the others to me, or maybe it just broke the perfect flow.

    'And her journey continues yet'

It's as if that line has one extra syllable compared to how the 2nd line of that stanza read. Does that make sense ?

I love this, its really beautiful work. That's my 2cents, spend as you wish :-))

ohhh Pat this was simply amazing it just made me melt inside and get all mushy, Imean this was simply a beautiful write, you know how much I love the sea and the Ocean in writing, I can feel this stuff being I have lived a considereble amount of time upon the sea, in lonelines and in love, wishing to be free, and well this is such a deeply sad nad profoundly hopeful write, seemingly contradictory, unless you look at how confusing an emotion love is, you made it so perfectly clear inthis, what love and sadness and hope werea ll like, and it was one of those writes that just leaves one realing inside, eloquent romantic and beautiful, jeeze wish I would have not got bootedofflinee yesterday in the middle of the read, but it was even better now being my present mental state, thank you for inviting me to read a write you surely knew would touch me especially, very beautiful,

Bespeak a word and I am healed,
    My gentle dreaming friend.
And all my sorrows are revealed,
    As ashes in the wind.
My heart speaks far inside of me,
    The Loves the only thing.
    Thanks dear for the oppertunity,
To stand with you and sing.

You weave the magic in my mind with swirls profound - love, legend, lore - some lost and some found. Leaving me in this kaleidoscope of your mind.

    excellent

This is beautiful, it made me tearful just reading it. WOW I love this.

So tell him when the tear drops fall
    They fall on sacred ground
To nurture what grows in his heart
This love that we have found
Fore our poetry will ever live
And the world will always know
Of the precious gifts his heart does give
And tell him I love him so

That is the most beautiful thing I have ever heard.

Have read both this piece and Patrick's and am taken aback by the friendship ties that have so strongly developed. Beautiful tribute Pat to one who would appear to be such a compassionate person. Bless you both. -tj-

    WOW!!!
So very lovely and contains so much love that can't be 'touched' by human hands.

So sweet of you to offer this to him.
    Lovely form, rhythm, and rhyme!!!
