An Ocean of Memories

waves splashing cold
  spurts of water
on my feet
   gazing through the azure
at a distance,
 a glimpse into the past
   a world of Innocence
essence of tranquility
engulfs me within
the sweet reminiscence
  of childhood

 ...

   a smile
a chill rolling over
  my neck

a glimpse into the present
  fast moving teenage
the adolescent rebel
   fading away
      - stepping into
mature footsteps of humanity
   an eager heart
       - looking for satisfaction

 ...

       a soft sigh
   in anticipation of
    what lies ahead

a glimpse into the future
   the zeal to hustle
embedded within every cell
 the enthusiasm to taste
the bitter world

 ...

    a trickle of tear
 a passing thought
    what If -

awakened by a cold wave...

    I walk away from my
         -
            Ocean of memories

Great imagery in this. I love the ocean and you have given me a knew way to look at it. It always seems that if you are at the ocean it is easier to think of memories good and bad. I tend to like the good ones!!!

Don't let that doubt come in . It's not the world thats bitter, only some people and not all people. Inside we are always the innocent child if we live our lives with the sincerety of a child. Then there's beautiful magic to behold.
    peace and joy tara

I love this poem. I had a feeling you would do a wonderful job with this title, and you have! The mood of this poem is so unique and ecclectic.
Thank you so much for entering. I really appreciate it.
