Love Never Blossomed

Missing image
I see the hurt in your eyes
longing to stay by my side
I want to dry your tears
the truth no longer hides

Our love did not blossom
though beautiful for me
our love can be no more
it is time to set you free

We wouldn't last a lifetime
it is best we say good bye
before I hurt you anymore
all I did was make you cry

Your future looks so distant
but you will make it through
your dreams are out there
love is waiting there for you

I'll walk with you awhile
so the road is not so long
then it will be time to leave
for this is not where I belong

Nothing will make it easy
only time will heal the pain
though you heart is breaking
you are sure to love again

A bit confusing. Are you breaking up or not. While the poem itself reads ok it doesn't address ths issue. Thanks for taking the time to enter.

Oh Please! Just be honest and tell the guy you are dumping him for someone else! Hehehe, your gift of tact weaves through soft poetic words, but the sting will still be the same. Your usual quality work.

    excellent

    Beautiful write!!!!
You really can come up with so many varietys of poetry and meaning. This one is wonderful how you wrote this love poem of letting someone go because there is no future together. An excellent flow as always and a pleasure to read. BRAVO!!!!

This is really good Sis. Most of your sad romantic poems are about your heart being broken. In this one you were the one breaking someone's else's heart. A nice change. I loved the 5th stanza. Very touching. I don't know how you create these ill-fated love poems. But then you always were the drama queen. You should write romance novels. Older women always write the best ones. Love, Linny
