Black scales flashing in the night,
Humans screaming in their fright,
Burning buildings fuel their fear,
Dinner time is growing near.
These tiny beasts will have to do,
I'll have to eat more than a few,
The normal meal has moved away,
Soon I'll hunt for larger prey.
Gryphon flesh is pretty sweet,
Though they fight with their clawed feet,
Maybe an elephant will pass this way,
That could be a meal for a day.
For now I'll catch these little snacks,
Eat a dozen then relax,
Then take a nap till dawn does come,
Then take flight to have some fun.

what fairytale is this? it is nice, but what is it.

its not a standard fairy tale per se...its more of a story about a fairy tale creature...which, in reality, is all a fairy tale is.. a story about a fictional character with amazing and unbelievable things....

Thank you for entering my contest!--sahlili20 -
Very gruesome indeed. I love it! I tend to be a fan or the macabre-type poetry, so this one was fun to read. The fact that the dragon is narrating makes the poem slightly comical, and at the end the conclusion was chilling and hilarious at the same time. I really enjoyed reading this one.
