A Lone Wolf

A lone wolf is not normal.
Or so society believes.
Yet it has left the pack
In search of another
Or to be alone.

A lone wolf howls at the dark,
An eerie lonely sound.
Is it crying to attract a mate
Or because it is alone
Longing for a pack?

A lone wolf hunts and attacks.
Is it because it’s hungry
Or because it is angry
At being utterly
Alone?

Needs work.

The whole poem is intended to be a metaphor. It's certainly melancholy as my mood.

    I think this poem has asked the question I often ask myself. Why do I choose to be alone, although I could easily play the other girls' mind games? Perhaps even the lone wolves do not know why.

    Good Poem

    For some reason I associate this poem with growing up. You are with your family and then you are on your own and then you make your own family. It is a hard time but also exciting time. Anyway that is what your words said to me.

    Great write i myself am something of a wolf but i'm only alone in the summer. it's fun being a wolf. nothing's better. or at least not yet. just playin' around a lot don't mind me. very good write though and it is well written.Great job.

    This is an excellent write! I love the emotion you’ve used and the word choice. The poem flows really well. And the form is very good.
    At any rate, you definitely have talent. I’m glad there are people like you on this board to entertain the rest of us with their art. One of my favorite past times is reading poetry, and writers like yourself keep this passion alive. I really enjoyed it well done! I look forward to reading more of your work soon.     Well it is true wolve's usually are in packs
    Maybe it wandered off....or like you said in search for a mate...
    I know I wouldn't want a pack of wolves folling me if I were looking for another female wolf & it could be simply hungry but again they are usually in packs.....
    I cant't see this needs any work..I think you portayed the poem very nicely
