Does anyone read between the lines?
Do you want to know what's beneath my skin?
The ocean is deep beyond the sun
Inside all saints there lies the sin.
You think you know-You think you see
The picture that you paint of me
You hear my words roll from my lips
But do you hear what I'm saying?
Does anyone look beneath the shell
Would you care to know who I really am
Or would you prefer to live in your own head
To create your own liars scam?
Perhaps someday you'll get over you
Read between the lines-reach beneath the skin
To see the person I really am
Where the outside reflects what lies within.
You think you know-You think you see
The picture that you paint of me
You hear my words roll from my lips
But do you hear what I'm saying?

Lovely yet again. :-D I wrote a song that was along these same lines awhile back, and I can't help but agree. Why is it so hard for people to look beyond the exterior? (although I'm guilty of it as well)
I guess it's something that can't be helped which sucks, but it makes for some damn good poetry. :-)
Great, again.

I am so guilty of prejudging too many people in this world. But in defense, it has often also kept me quite safe. But still, it is no excuse I guess. I really liked the way you have written this to show how what others see on the outside is not always what they see on the inside. What a wonderful message you have here.
