Life's Charades

Withering away like a dying rose
Slipping away  slowly
Emotion after emotion
The cool breeze of the night
Simply whisking them away
Much the same as rose pedals
Pedal after velvety pedal
Drifting away upon the winds
Wilted and dying inside
Emerald eyes crying salty tears
Burning more than the eyes
But branding the soul
Torturing the heart
Playing on the mind
Denying the body
Ones own inner hell
Ripping apart their being
Piece by piece
Pedal after pedal
Wilting and dying from within
Though the frail shell of a woman
Lies standing before you
Appearing seemingly unaffected
Hiding the face of death
Wearing a mask
Playing the game of life's charades

This is INTENSE! Outstanding imagery here. Reminds me much of myself, especially a couple years ago. Very well written and makes one start to gaze within themselves. Powerful piece! Blessings, Gypsy

    awestruck

Celtic Moon, girl you are "serious". I'm an in awe. I'm must be in the presence of a veteran poet. This piece to me evokes wild imagination and detail of the twist and turns that life can take you on. Thank you
