born with unique features
In the land of gold, azure and white
looked down by all
yet allured many others
a fairy tale dwelled within
her heart...
a tale that every girl dreams of...
her prince charming would come
and take her away from all her
tribulations...
alas,
there was no prince to come
still the hope remained
blossoming into a flower
without the shelter of a nurturing mother
yet embracing her In borne skills
as a daughter,wife and mother...
living through the trauma of
troubled marriage,
bearing the loss of her scion
but still standing strong
a woman extraordinaire
daddy's princess
a faithful wife
a loving mother...
caged with no life
only to push through
the door
to step into exoticism...
twirling naked
yet sensuous
'Mata Harri'
-then she was renamed
- the eye of dawn
a soul that thrived to
live one moment
In the arms of her lover
walking a path of thorns
to come closer...
only to face a
battalion of soldiers
armed with bullets
engraved with her name...

in the words of rickie martin "your my mata hari i want to know your story..." i think she was one of the most interisting people i have ever done research on and i think she is beautiful portreted here fablous work
-
While she was married she had no life whatsoever... so when she got out of it,she became an exotic dancer... and still craved to be with her daughter.
I suppose that makes sense now trans. -
I think this piece captures more than the seductress facet of Mata Hari. It brings out the flesh behind the mask; a figure most women can relate to. Especially women who were wronged.
-
This is another beautiful poem Pi; but I'm curious about the meaning for lines caged with no life ... step into exoticism? It doesn't seem to score with the good wife and mother
-
ah! another well written poem which raises questions as to the espionage of Mata Hari. it seems that people these days are less than convinced of her guilt, and wish to exonerate her poshumously. Still, spy or victim, Mata has a name that spells mystery and intrigue nearly a century after her death.
