Childhood Memory

Being the youngest
I guess you'd  call me the brat
While my siblings got in trouble
I just sat and laughed

They would get punished
For not watching me
My brothers got whipped
When I fell from a tree

They should have been watching
My parents said
I could have got hurt
Or perhaps wind up dead

I'll tell you the truth
This isn't a lie
My brothers sat me in the tree
To see if I could fly

Author notes

Since my name is Bertie I guess my brothers thought I could fly like a bird LOL. Many people would pronounce my name as Birdie.
