If you had the power over life and death –
Who would you kill?
The preacher who preaches
Intolerance and hate
The elderly driver
Whose dawdling makes you late
The autocratic leaders
Whose regimes bring pain
The hooded youths
Who throw stones at your train
The corrupt officials
Who plunder aid that we sent
A vague acquaintance
Who keeps things that you lent
The cold blooded killer
Who kills someone you don’t care about
The noisy neighbour
Who always seems to shout
The brainwashed young man
Who would bomb an innocent crowd
The girl on the tube
Whose headphones are too loud
The predator who makes women
Fear for their life
The stranger in the bar
Who got too friendly with your wife
If you had the power over life and death -
Who would you kill?
The dictator? The rapist? The suicide bomber?
Child killer? Mass murderer? Preacher of hate?
Fantatic? Yob? Neighbour from hell?
Or no-one at all?

Great Job! Well done!
The predator who makes women
Fear for their life
The stranger in the bar
Who got too friendly with your wife
Great rhyming. It held my attention to the end.
The cold blooded killer
Who kills someone you don’t care about
The noisy neighbour
Who always seems to shout
This one seemed a bit off meter. Also, you should punctuate your poems. It adds to the flow. Anyways, great job done here! Well done! I applaud you! -
There are a couple of people who I know personally that the world would be better off without.... and believe me, for their transgresions, I have at times wished them dead.... but you know what.... when push comes to shove the only time I believe I would even attempt to kill anyone is if it were a question of him or me (or some other one he was trying to kill) and then only if I felt it was my only choice when it came to living or dying.
You've presented a very thoughtful question, one which most of us could not answer intil it came right down to being faced with doing it or not doing it.
I do like the way you've written this, perfectly rhymed, and with both somewhat agitating incidents as well as the more serious ones.
I enjoyed reading this, it even has a touch of humor (to me anyway) here and there (like the girl with the headphones too loud....yeah, I'd like to strantgle those people sometimes.)
An excellent write, great job
