Plinkyponk, or the Thunderstorm

I think I thanked the wink,
sandals that scraped the gravel,
she did not see it though,
it was small,
o, very tiny,
and sank when it wasn't sure-

Who believed that?
the way she smiled secretly,
only just a little bit afraid
twirling her hair between her fingers
in the blue light

reading round the upsidedown
like blankets for a child,

furious at the tangle of things,

how would she choose?
(only small pumpkins would do)

...such metaphors
as changing blue to green,

and then hide deeply in the leaves
listening to the birds
watching the songs ta too the sky.

At the time,
I did not know,
but my fingers danced
by chance,
grabbing at a bit of grumbly
in my eye

but I did not cry.

    Poems which are...

That's new for me. But then I'm new on this site. Well, not necessarily new, but then not old either. Your metaphors and "ta toos" are whimsical. This is a witty little ditty. I was amused by the title, that is why I clicked here. I am finding this place to be quite fascinating. You have made it feel really at home for me. I have children that speak this fantastical. I enjoyed!

    good

You use great imagery, flipping between clips
of images. The descriptiveness really makes
this poem special. good job with this.

Didn't get this at all until I read the others' comments and realised it was about someone in particular! Ah, the pieces of the puzzle fell into place... Yes, it's very good, with well-crafted phrasing. Kind of whimsy meets whistful.

Hey. This isn't so bad. Got a small pumpkin in it. I was thinking this was the other plinkyponk one. Where you whip her, etc.

No this is nice and sweet.

You captured such sweet little moments like spying on a little girl's mind and back out again. It so cutsy, it could be a card.

    Just so ... divinely Upsidedown

How beautiful words follow the paths destined for poems.

And for happiness, how tender lips' smiles.

Sandals on gravel is beautiful. And so is twisting hair and thunder. And also, Plinky. And Poems which are.

    Good luck ..
