I drown in the darkness of your eyes,
The strength of your arms lulls me to a peace that I have not felt in years.
I never thought that you would be the one to bring my guttered heart back to life.
To bring me back to myself,
To help me find my path and my passion.
Thank you for all that you are.
You say that thanks aren't needed, that you just know how I feel,
But I never want you to feel neglected and taken for granted,
For you've saved me from that quiet pain,
To never feel alone again.
You've transformed me.
Taken my faults and failings and turned them into my strength.
You've looked deep into my soul,
And seen what I had always hoped people would see.
You saw past the front
You saw right through me.
I don't know how....
But I am forever grateful.

I wrote this for the man I adore. He took me from a very dark place and a very dark relationship, and has opened my eyes to true love. I wrote this in a stream-of-contiousness while freaking out in my livejournal about how wonderful he is.

I dont quite know what to say about this...(in a good way)
Emotion is quite evident in this piece(hell, it jumped off the page and strangled me when I was reading it).
I think I like it because of how honest and sincere it is. I mean, its not the first love poem I read(by far) but sometimes that type of poem seems fake, you know? At least thats the impression I get from some of them...
Anyway, I like how it was written. Im a great fan of free verse. And the first line I loved best of the whole poem.

the words quitely flow on their own and takes their time and turn... like a great, mighty river... slow but steady and powerful that carries you away with emotions... i've never ever read somebody thanking anybody for their love, so i find this piece very unique... also you have expressed certain emotions that i've always wanted to express but have never been able to do so.... just loved the lines:

so simple in construction yet so powerfully sincere...
however i suggest you to redo or leave the last stanza since the poem seems complete with just first two stanzas, and you have merely repeated what you said before...also they kind of lack the punch... hope you understand
