Moving On

Missing image
~  Moving on ~

Just there beyond the closing door
Where time stands alone and still,
I will be off for a distant shore
        Where you see me bidding farewell;
                    For I am moving on.

I’ve touched so many places,
        Embraced the past and future,
Gazed with love on all your faces.
        It’s been an amazing adventure
                    But now I’m moving on.

With the fragrance of all your love,
        The tenderness of embraces,
With grace granted from up above,
        I will carry your caresses
                    While I am moving on.

So hold with tender loving care
And celebrate the sense of awe
With the memories that we’ve shared.
        For now its time that I withdraw;
As now, I must move on.

You are my pride, I love you all
If I forgot, please forgive me,
You’ve given  more joy than I can recall
        And I will be there,
                  waiting, across the sea.
        But now it is time,
                  and I move on.

This is one of those poems that I'll be reading and find half-way through that I am holding my breath. The beauty and sadness...parting is so very painful, especially when there is no hope of a reunion in this life time...what a lovely way to say goodbye. This reads like lyrics- a sad and loving song that pulls at the heart and reminds us of how precious and very short this life is.
    Lovely stuff!

Excellent piece; very enthralling and addictive. I sincerely could not stop reading. Every line was thoroughly enjoyed. The imagery was superb and really portrayed a clear, concise picture and sence to me as I read. It’s also a very relatable poem. The emotion is evident and grasping. Really liked it. Very appealing poem.

    Excellent

This is a wonderful poem describing what one thinks while passes over to the other side. I am touched by the beauty of the sentiment and flowing words. I just lost someone very dear to me and I think he too would have said those words. Thanks for writing it.

I thought it was wonderful. I thought you had nice word choice and it just all flowed together very nicely. It was emotion filled and can easily be related too. I think everyone always feels that sometimes we need to move on but we just can't and this shows that you don't need to be afraid to move on when you feel you need too!

    Keep Writing,

Beautifully penned, and while I can feel the sadness, I also feel a sense of inspiration. A reminder that our loved ones live in our hearts and minds, until with open arms we welcome them and their touch again. Thank you for sharing...

I love this simply because of the happy attitude to it. Sorrow is useless here, moving on to other experiences in life should be a celebration because all the memories beforehand you will forever hold dear. This is fantastic.

Awww. I love it. I t seems to make the memories of those in your past linger in a beautiful way. A way that you can remember the good times and that make sthere passing on or by all that much bettter. There are different ways you can see this poem though and its a great job. keep it up.

This is so beautiful yet sad! There are so many people that have moved on..for most, it was there time...but for others, they could have had quite a few more years if only they had realized what they were leaving behind! For all of those that move on, I believe that this is their message to us! Great job on writing this! It is powerful and full of emotion...not only through the words, but when the readers look at it! Keep up the good work! I will put you on my favorites!

I like the beat and the musical feel this poem generates...I agree with enjambment decisions and the imagery, but then at times have found some awkward phrases like "Where time stands alone and still"...time stands still (though heavily cliched) can work for the suggestive effect you want..."alone and still" is just kinda overkill! (though I may have missed a point or two)

A write that rivits the mind and tugs at the heart,
    sad but such beautiful wording..
This stanza really spoke to me
    I’ve touched so many places,
Embraced the past and the future,
Gazed with love on all your faces.
    It’s been an amazing adventure
    But now I’m moving on.

Im not sure if this poem was about Death.. but for me it kinda seemed like a thank you of sorts to the world and the people you were leaving behind in any case an amazing write

    Wonderful

That journey that we all must make at some point in our lives. So sad, and each stanza seems to take the author further and furthur away. T o make a journey where we cannot follow maybe just yet.The feeling of great loss and sadness ovewhelms the reader. For truly to leave all those behind that you know and love.Must be the hardest thing in life to come to terms with.

    By God Most Compassionate
    your poem did resonate
    remembrances of my aunt
    who returned to fount.

    Daisy racked with cancer
    with no pain deferred
    yet smiling she prayed
    for us to stay.

    Daisy cried from strain
    but not from pain
    begging take her words
    whispered, each one heard.

    Thank God for life
    for suffering and strife
    I praise God too
    to carry you through.

Moving to moving on has left the grace of simple feelings felt to me with depths of graciousness. Loss in any way shape or form, are things felt inside. Not always visible or expressed with such heartfelt agility. We all have our own deep thoughts contained inside us to shed. Lucky are those of us who can put these words to a form with magnificence in all its grandeur. My heart feels for those who keep inside the beauty they hold. For the world would never set eyes upon the wondrous feelings held within because they so lack the gift we share in a dominion of words. You are a wonderful writer I will profess to that my friend and sharing them with us makes you even more precious to the world…I remain
