U.S.Air Force
Off into the wild blue yonder
making the skies safe and sound
flying sorties with precision strikes
we have the best air force around
U.S. Navy
Gunners man the turrets at sea
sailors help keep the enemy at bay
battleships transport men and arms
camouflaged in battleship gray
U.S. Army
The best trained army in the world
regular and reservists fight side by side
hometown heroes sacrifice their all
fighting together with American pride
U.S. Marines
The Marines are always the first to arrive
when it gets tough they give their all
preparing the way for those who follow
answering the sound of freedom's call
U.S. Coast Guard
Protecting the shorelines of our nation
deterring drugs and modern piracy
terrorist threats against our homeland
these men and women protect the sea
The National Guard
They are our wife, mother or our daughter
they can be our husband, father or our son
Sacrificing their careers and families
Called to serve they will get the job done

Support of the troops regardless of the reason is necessary to help keep them alive and show America's strength. Nice tribute Sandy - thanks for sharing!

Oh Sandy this is so wonderful - a fitting tribute to our men and women who are risking their lives so we can be safe here. There is not enough credit given to our soldiers. Thank you for writing this - joanne

WONDERFUL COMMENT
Ah dear Ashley, I know how much you miss you brother already. I know how you feel. I will say a prayer and hopes these next 10 months go by quickly. Thank you for the lovely comment. You are such a dear sweet AP daughter. God Bless you. Sandy, Mum

Thank you for your comment. I do think about these fine men and women who are sent in harms way. I don't always agree when and why they are sent. They don't have a choice. They are obeying orders. I will always support them till everyone is home. That is the least we can do. Talking negative does not boost their morale. I'm sure most would rather be home with their family. Thank you again for commenting. Take care

Mum,
This was really good but it made me miss Michael even more
. I know he's only been gone like 2 hours.. but I still miss him so much. I told him I wanted to squish him and put him in my pocket. And when they asked where Michael was I'd tell them he was in the bathroom
.. and then sneak out and take him home with me.
God Bless
love ya~

GREAT TRIBUTE, TO ALL THOSE WHO PROTECT AMERICA, GREAT WRITE!
can you comment on my poems? -
I feel sadness in my heart reading such veneration to those armed for War... Have even thought about those man and woman that are sent to foreign soil are as scared as the people living in such hostile enviroment??? Well I guess not! Sorry I had to speak up my mind for sadness is in my heart.
-
I think this is wonderful!! support the troops and may we make the world free(a dream of course, but a nice one)!!!
-
reading the comments, i see that both anti-war people and veterans are in agreement about Iraq. i hate to say it, but i agree with them, too. the Bush administration has turned this country into a global school-yard bully, flaunting it's military muscle with recklass abandon. our noble military should not be used to slake the greed of big-money corperations.
even so, i still liked your poem. it has heart. thanks -
nice B-24, by the way
-
we veterans thank you very much for this fantastic poem!
-
Now if we can only put our politicians on the front line Id be a happier american. I fought for this country and put my life on the line..All for the glory of some politicians egotistical greed. War accomplishes nothing. just death and a repeat of history. bring back the draft.....and make it an honor to have our politicians serve our country with dignity.
-
awwww so sweet to write a contribute a piece to our military. my husband is in the AF and even though he hasnt been deployed yet he still protects our country. and i agree with everyone on how wonderful this is, thanx!

This was wonderful how it broke each branch of the service up for writing something about each one. Great work on this, I have so much respect for our military and the sacrafices they make for us at home. This was really well written and each stanza flowed nicely. I truly appreciate the wonderful words you wrote about our soldiers. Great job and thank you for sharing this.
-
Thanks a million and then some. Amen to your loving and passionate heart. You are always thinking of others. Beautiful way to honor our magnificent military!! Bravo girl!!
