And He Shall Be Called

HIS tears are shed for those who don't know,
The sweet gift of his amazing grace...
For all of those still kept in the dark,
I write so that they may seek his face.

Lord I come now to give you just praise,
Let me describe the Ancient of Days,
So that everyone may understand...
From where I live and across the land...

        -And He shall be called-

Shepherd and Bishop of Souls, Lamb of God,
Advocate, Lord of Lords, Man of Sorrows,
Head of the Church, Master, Faithful and True,
The Witness, The Judge, High Priest, The True Vine...

Rock, The Door, Living Water, Messiah,
Bread of Life, Rose of Sharon, Holy One,
Mediator, The Beloved, Carpenter,
Branch, The Good Shepherd, Son of Man, The Way,

Light of The World, The Word, Chief Cornerstone,
Image of God, Saviour, Servant, Shiloh,
The Author and Finisher of our Faith,
The Almighty, Everlasting, Father...

Lion of Judah, I Am, Prince of Peace,
Bridegroom, Only Begotten Son, Anchor
Wonderful Counselor, Immanuel,
The Amen, King of the Jews, Redeemer

Bright Morning Star, Alpha and Omega,
Our Lord Jesus Christ...The Truth and the Life!

Lord, so that all may come to know you
And the redeeming power of your grace,
I bring to light some of your names,
That will befit all the human race.

In Jesus Name....~Amen~

Author notes

This is a poem about God and it is written both in rhyme and free verse. These are but a few names that describe him.

To give it some semblence of a form and order... I used 9 syllables for each line of rhyme and 10 for each line of free verse.

I chose this picture for this poem, because it says to me that Jesus is looking down on us shedding tears for those who don't know him. The world is full of chaos and turmoil which breaks his heart. The tears are for those who know not his name........or is saving grace...

Wow, I never knew that Jesus had so many names. But obviously you took the time to find these names and make this poem inherently simple, yet so complex. "The Light of God is the life of man"....beautiful write, great job and good luck in the contest!
