One night as I was sleeping a dream came to me
It was about the faeries and how they came to be
~
They came from the realm of faeries
A magical world called the land of youth
Crossing through the veil of life
Bringing with them, all but, the truth
The other world from which they came
Was the most pleasant of all the lands
But the curious little faeries
Also - had curious little hands
So here they are! In our world
Pillaging all they can
They even sneak into our rooms
Like little Peter Pans
A shoelace or a button
An earring or a tooth
Goes into a magic backpack
And sent back to the land of youth
~
So keep your windows closed at night, don’t think they’re tiny fools
They’ll steal you blind in an instant and you better hide your jewels

What a fiesty, far-fetched fairytale... that I adore. I love the twist you've given the visual art here. I know faeries can be sly, little naughty creatures, and you have brought that fantasy to life with this wonderful poem. The best to you in this challenge. Splendid rhymes and visuals that made me chuckle.
Much Love,
Renee

Hehe. You can't blame the faeries for being curious... Well, I guess they are a tricksom lot of folk. This reminds me of the stories parents tell, like "if you don't put your toys away the elves will take them". I gotta find those elves, I want my stuff back!
Great poem and good luck in the contest.

This was a fantastic write. I loved the above quatrain but all of the final three stanzas were absolutely terrific! I can imagine telling this to my daughter as a bedtime story too she likes the stories of tiny little people living in the flower and the woods! Excellent writing. Best wishes and

fairies be quick
whimsical tale and made me smile a mile , I do hope those fairies don't take wallets , for as jewels i have none , so buttons and thread they may have as long as the button they take isn't the one my pants hold up
, vivid fantasy and funny prose , sweet to the ear and a children pleaser for sure.

hmmm, this one kinda got me giggling
I mean, the story of the tooth-faerie and whatever is well known, that they give something back when you lost one, but the fact that they come and steal your jewels
I didn't know faeries could be naughty too
I wish you the best of luck in this contest!
