Abandoned flesh and blood

*Abandoned flesh and blood*

Abandoned flesh and blood
Left the baggage in the mud
And the tale for her is told
Wet and muddy in the cold
Fatherless, and growing old
Lack of morals, she was sold
Ever wanting someone to hold
Learned nothing but pain
To reap and sow
But she marches on
To the drone of the drum
She's got so much love
It's only just begun
Countless disappointments
She is still young
And I feel for her
Abandoned flesh and blood
All she's learned is sorrow
All she's been taught is pain
All she know is you hurt those you love
Cause she feels nothing without the pain
If you love her, why did you leave her
What did she ever do to you
Only so much more she can take
You are now her abandoned flesh and blood

Author notes

How can one learn to not do what they didn't like being done to them, if they justify doing it to others?  This is the cycle of violence, neglect and emotional blackmail.

    Amazing

This has a very nice flow and it leaves you thinking. It's one of those poems that you don't nessisarily get the first time through. I really like it.

this is almost disturbing but magnificently written, tough, taciturn yet portrays as vulnerable
