People use the Bible
For others they will condemn
They preach to other people
But it doesn't apply to them
They manage to find loopholes
By which It guides their way
And they know they won't burn in hell
No matter what anyone else might say
They may find comfort now
While they grace this old earth
But soon they will have to answer
To Him of Virgin Birth

This is so true ...alot of those church goers who preach their faces off to everyone are the first ones to stab you in the back
A very good message here! Bravo!

Great Poem!
Hello! I was browsing poems to comment on, and I ran across yours... your intro intrigued me. I must say, I do like it!
I am a Christian, who uses my Bible a lot, but I hope I'm not one of the kind in this poem! When talking to people about Jesus (-because I do-), I make sure to include myself in the whole lot, because Jesus came for all of us.
I've been learning a lot about Jesus' love for all people. In fact, one verse that's really grasped me lately is John 3:17- "For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." I actually wrote a poem on here about that recently, entitled "Mark of Mercy" (in case you're interested in reading it).
I think the problem comes when people get a misunderstanding of what the whole Bible is about. Not to mention, some of the "Bible users" really don't know how to go about correctly sharing what it says.
Well rhymed and well written! -
You have put into words something that should be required reading for anyone who claims to be a Christian. I think this is outstanding!

i like how you used your veiws of the church and what the church should do/say...it shows that htere may be some holes in our own societies and not all of us can over-look them... many of us have learned to just ignore what contradicts what we have been taught(did that make any sense?) but some among us can overlook these things forever...thanks..it made me think about my own morals!
