Away and Resting

First Holiday...........Since

Tranquillity abounds, sweet sight and sounds of this night
Where blossoms the Jasmine, the warmth of the air, is alive
Wafts of the stillness and quietly, night birds offer faint sight

The minds eye can sense, eye lids tight
The vapour, the mists, from the sea
T’is just off the beach front,
Where Crissy and I need to be

The deaths of those just gone,
Still fresh in our mind
But knowing they’re resting
The good Lord has offered them kind

Lodgings, their stay, cleanly paid
They, both of them now
Peacefully laid......quiet

Bring back.........the thoughts
T’is here, where they ought to be
The evening is quiet...........
The occasional break of the sea

Awww. Terry this is so beautiful, though touched by saddness. I don't know who the poem is about, being laid to rest, but is obviously some one you love.

And yes, after all these months you and your Crissy deserve this little respite.....enjoy it, savor it.

You've written a beautiful poem, Terry, and whomever it is who was laid to rest, must surely look kindly upon you and yours.

    Take care
    Love and
    Dee
