For socially conscious endeavors they seek
as broad minded trail blazers looking for truth
developing strong held opinions in youth
They work for a cause and are true visionaries
volunteer workers and great missionaries
who strive to abolish the poor lower classes
dreaming of quality life for the masses
Charming and friendly they'll make your acquaintance
but disregard unions requiring maintenance
Not to be cold hearted, distant or rude
they breathe a lot better at high altitude
For nothing is worse than Aquarius grounded
they feel out of sync when they're closely surrounded
and trying to force one to come down to earth
will only suppress and diminish their worth
In matters of love they're a little perverse
and often succumb to the Aphrodite curse
unless you can offer them space that they need
and lots of ideas so their minds can be freed
Providing assistance and giving respect
to these new age idealists who do in effect
live for the HUMANITARIAN plight
for often enough the AQUARIAN'S right
Author notes
Several people have IMed me wanting to know what the curse of aphrodite is...basically it was the curse contradicting everything that the Goddess stood for. Example-since Aphrodite ruled sexual attraction the curse was repulsion, beauty became ugliness, and love reciprocated became love unreciprocated. Basically the curse of Aphrodite could really apply to anyone (not just aquarians) who have ever experienced the pain of love and reality meeting in a head on collision.

AWESOME!
I've got to agree, we are always right. Ok, what AquariuS? Still, that was funny and very true... I'm only a tad of an Aquarius... it all there. -
I agree astrology is fun, but not always accurate. Glad you liked it.

I wrote on Gemini called Double Vision...let me know what you think!!!!

I gotta tell you #1, totally Aquarius speaking now!!! LOL!!! I loved this poem. Truth be told, I don't subscribe to all of the asrology thing and I will tell you why...I am a twin! Okay, so if that were all true, shouldn't we be somewhat alike? WE'RE NOT!!! That being said, I usually fit the mold of the typical aquarian, though my twin sister does not. This was a totally creative piece, and though, I don't agree totally with your deductions, I take it as it is, and found a lot of humor in this. Very well written, I really liked this!

Such a wonderful (and quite accurate!) poem. The rhyming scheme is excellent, with very few flaws. I look forward to reading your work on Gemini

I am an aquarius and I just
wanted to say thanks for writing
this. Really a great, mind blowing

I'm glad you found that fitting, trying to peg an aquarian is like nailing jello to a wall. hehe! Thanks for the read!

That sounds just like me. Enjoyed this one too. It is really amazing how one can gind something that fits their personality in each star sign, isn't it?
-
Glad you liked it. I'm almost finished with the entire zodiac. Gemini is the only one I have left to write.

Here's what the great astrologer Grant Lewi has to say about Sun in Leo, Moon in Virgo people:
You find ready expression for your strong opinions and emotions, chiefly through the written and spoken word. A tendency to be a person of action breaks down under a lack of true executive capacity. Some flaw in your administrative talents will drive you to seek the influence you crave through intellectual means, in which you will achieve your greatest success. You are critical, accurate in thought, somewhat too outspoken, though tact is something you can easily learn. You have a large streak of timidity under your aggressive exterior, and, if the truth could be known, you're not always so sure of yourself as you appear.
You ardent in love, somewhat critical and suspicious, but easily satisfied if there's some flattery and demonstrativeness thrown in. You like to be petted, though you wouldn't care to have people know it. This is a rather better position for a woman than for a man, for in women it combines ardor and constancy, making you domestic and devoted.
Your best medium of expression in life is artistic, intellectual, or creative. You have no special feeling for the public, and if you succeed, it's rather because they like what you do or are, than because you try to give them what they want.
Your independence can make enemies, for you don't ordinarily cater to anyone, and a sort of miltant pride impels you frequently to do the wrong thing out of impish delight in watching the effect. Underneath this, however, you have a real desire to please; and when you have learned tact you can become very popular with a discriminating public. Your taste is good and if you will allow your natural politeness and charm to come out, you can win people to you and respect for your attainments.

Thanks for the astro info and the comment. You said you were curious about libra that's my ascendant, sun-leo, and moon virgo hows that for seriously out of balance. Thanks for reading!

My goodness, you nailed it. Fortunately or unfortunately I am a moon in Aquarius. Because my sun is in Cancer, and Cancer is ruled by the moon, well, naturally the moon rules. (Do I detect a contradiction here?)
Nice little rhyme scheme here, although I think you're talented enough to grow in other directions. (We Aquarians, be it moon or sun, must live up to our contradictions, yes?)
Oh, and there are no planets in any of the earth signs, which pretty much makes me levitate as you have so impeccably indicated with this delightful poem of yours.

Fantastic
This one has to go high on my list with Heads or Tails(Scorpio)! It's another really good one.You have created a very unique collection here. One you should be proud of.Applause! Excellent flow. And I like rhyme in a poem. -
I dated an aquarius. All through Jr. high and some of Highschool. It was a love hate relationship. And I never knew if we were actually dating? One minute he was all over me, the next he was acting like he didn't know my name??? But I don't really remember his personality all that much to say if he was like this poem. But good job and the poemanyway. The flow could have been a little bit better. But it was good anyway. Good job.

I am truly impressed with your ability to write these characteristics. I do see myself in this, although I don't have nearly the humanitarian accomplishments to my credit that typify the Aquarius sun sign. What is the Aphrodite curse? I'm always looking at Venus! They both seem to elude me! LOL
Thank you for sharing, pretty Leo lady! Beautifully done.

Once again, I'm completely blown away by your talent for descriptive and informative poetry that doesn't become boring. I always come away feeling like I understand better what in the world is going on with other people!

How could I not love this and feel it deep inside - it is I -great and even better

This is great! I am an Aquarious (proud of it!) and this really hits home with me. This easily earns my applause...and a bookmark (^_^)
