Yet again I'm letting go
Of all I've ever stood for -
The good and the bad,
The ones I've held dear.
Yet again I'm letting go.
The mental struggle far too hard -
Especially when my mind knows,
I'm only destined to lose once more.
Yet again I'm letting go.
It's fun while it lasts -
but what will be left at the end?
Darkness, loneliness, the same struggle again.
Yet again I have abandoned You.
Only letting emotion and others
Tear us apart....
Nailing You to that cross once more.
Yet again I have abandoned You -
Taking only the easy roads,
Leaving all faith behind..
Letting You down once more.
Yet again I have abandoned You,
Finding warmth in a lovers embrace -
Pushing aside Your unconditional love,
Erasing You from my mind.
Yet again I run to You,
Knowing Your arms will forever be open,
Your hug still warm
And Your love still strong.
Yet again I run to You.
Of all I've ever stood for -
The good and the bad,
The ones I've held dear.
Yet again I'm letting go.
The mental struggle far too hard -
Especially when my mind knows,
I'm only destined to lose once more.
Yet again I'm letting go.
It's fun while it lasts -
but what will be left at the end?
Darkness, loneliness, the same struggle again.
Yet again I have abandoned You.
Only letting emotion and others
Tear us apart....
Nailing You to that cross once more.
Yet again I have abandoned You -
Taking only the easy roads,
Leaving all faith behind..
Letting You down once more.
Yet again I have abandoned You,
Finding warmth in a lovers embrace -
Pushing aside Your unconditional love,
Erasing You from my mind.
Yet again I run to You,
Knowing Your arms will forever be open,
Your hug still warm
And Your love still strong.
Yet again I run to You.
Author notes
This really sucks, I know. I've been going through a hard time and I know I've turned my back on my Savior.

No condemnation. A perfect god understands perfectly, and the struggle we have with faith is all part of the package. It's a thousand steps away but only one step back (they say), if you continue to judge yourself by perfect standards then you're always in for a let down. You can't turn your back on god because he's in front of you as well as behind you all the way. Wherever you turn there he is.
Hope this helps:

Wow, what do you mean this really sucks? Honestly I think this is one of the most heartfelt ones I've read from you, You seriously hit the mark on this one, I can fully relate.
One thing I've learned in my life, we fall, we can continue with the fall only to find all thats left is darkness, or we can run to His arms, and he picks us back up, he payed the price for our fall.
Awesome poem, I'm glad I read it!

though we all know I'm not religious... I do have a faith based structure in my life... and you have no idea much i can actually relate to this... I walked away from everything I held for so long... for someone who forced into taking her beliefs, using pitty and fear of being alone to make do it... I'm never giving it up again... anyways, I ramble... This reached me on alot of levels... as well as it's very well structured, and composed elegantly... I can't believe how much I've missed reading your writes...

I remember speaking with you on here before, and first of all you've let no one down, you should really keep that in mind. People who unconditionally love you don't get let down that easily, that's why it's called unconditional. Just don't push all the people who care for you away, some might not understand why you're doing it, and whether you let them in that circle and let them understand is up to you but consider their feeling and how confused they must be by you right now. You have a lot to consider and though I realize nothing I can say on here can really make you feel any better, everyone has something they can give, and you just have to find yours. Best of luck to you always,
Tara

Very well written, a constant struggle known by all that love God.The world hates us for it, and so we come across constant struggles for our mind. Never give up, never give the devil ammo either. The ammo is any sin. I learned that the hard way. Peace, and God bless.

Hardtimes is what life is... We life and learn taking us further down this path called life. At least you have your Savor... I like this piece it makes one think a lot. Just push aside your thoughts of failure. Everyone's meant to fail sometimes, though we don't like it it's just how it goes. Thank you for sharing this write. Take care of yourself and those you love. Always ~star

I was thinking this was about Him when I read a stanza or two in. Surely, it was. I really enjoyed your testimony, and would just like to extend my hand and say if you ever need someone to talk more on this with.. I'm here.

Hi Mindy,
Don't be too hard on yourself. None of us are born knowing everything, and life sucker punches everyone now and then. You're a wonderful person. If you're having trouble believing in yourself, you can borrow some of my belief in you. I've got plenty.
Love you,

This is an amazing poem. It's not a matter of how far you fall, it's how fast you get back up. I've been on that road too many times, and I still wonder. Turn away for your own will and you will find the fear of God. The fear of God is really fear of a life without him. This is an amazing poem, and your in my heart and prayers. Stay strong and don't stray. I miss you. Don't let the world pull you away.

The thing you should remember is he will always have loving arms waiting to take you back. I hope your struggles ease and your path smoothes out soon. This is a beautiful write.
