Immortality;
Something to ponder.
What happens with an immortal’s body?
Is it physically dead?
Or frozen in time?
It’ll never age…
The spirit, the mind live on,
but the body…
Is it just a frozen masquerade?
A toy to command?
The mind thinks on but
does the body just get wound up
like a clockwork toy?
The body breathes and beats
but never grows older,
never grows colder.
Strange.
How can one live
with mechanic body
and immortal mind?
It could drive one insane.
I guess that’s why
no one is immortal…
what’s the point of
having your thoughts live forever,
if they reside in a tortured mind?

Sorry that is has taken me so long to comment on the poems in my contest, I've just been really busy.
I love the questions that this poem brings up. The simple yet far fetched concepts that are know etched into the sunlight.

It makes you think about many things so it is very hard to explain what you feel when you read it because ther is so many feelings you can get from this. very nicley written though you have a very great talent and I hope you do well in the contest!!!! mine is no where near as good as this good luck again!
