locked in captivity -
arrested development
bold and sharp
yet feared to succeed
in the manly world
succumbed before evolution
- creation chivalric
[destroyed before age]
raised to tolerate
the inconsistencies of life
floored -
numbed from within
yearning for peace
searching for deliverance
alas,in vain
relinquishing thoughts
ignoring brain-dead cries
self induced intoxication
- agonised forever
arrested development
bold and sharp
yet feared to succeed
in the manly world
succumbed before evolution
- creation chivalric
[destroyed before age]
raised to tolerate
the inconsistencies of life
floored -
numbed from within
yearning for peace
searching for deliverance
alas,in vain
relinquishing thoughts
ignoring brain-dead cries
self induced intoxication
- agonised forever
Author notes
Its normal to put a woman down
- but wasn't that centuries ago?
Now women self inflict themselves with pain instead of getting up and taking their stand.
Alas, there are very few who do so...the rest prefer to move on in the old fashioned way.

First of all, let me tell you that you embedded a powerful message throughout the words you've used to wield this poem here... and in fact, I haven't looked at the picture this way before
There are indeed (unfortunately) still too much men out there who actually think that women are only good to do the household, and raise the children... but for the rest, they're looked at like some kind of garbage...
Women should indeed start to take a stand on this matter...
Thanks for entering, you have a unique take on the picture
I wish you the best of luck in this contest!
Leander -
Life beats a woman down ... a man too ... but the woman carries the burdens ... it's part of living with other people, not so much gender as who has what to carry.
