What does it profit a person
If in the end, they lose their soul?
Years ago I never thought of this
But I finally gained sight of the whole.
So many live life by their rules
And forget those set down by the Lord
They do that which they know to be wrong
And forget where true riches are stored
The wind will continue to blow strong
The rain will continue to squall
But not one of us will escape from
Before God on our knees we must fall
I take no joy from knowing
That certain souls are doomed to be lost
They make their decisions with the knowledge
Of what will eventually be the full cost
I pray for these souls but I know that
In the end it’s the will of God that is done
No matter the thoughts they may have today
Judgment Day they will never outrun.

Sometimes people are so drawn to bad decisions they have no way of getting out of them. It is sad that it happens that way but they really think they can make an impact. What can you do?

I like this poem because it does pose an interesting question. Are our bad decisions worth it when the consequences are sure to come? I, personally, think HELL YES! Haha. =) But then again, I'm a real "seize the moment" kind of girl.

Thank you. I had a talk with a preacher the other day and this was part of the discussion. I felt like trying to convey the message to others just in case it might help. We all have to find a way to witness.

This is a stunning message contained. How many things do we do each day without giving thought to God? Far too many I think. It has both hope and sadness. I feel sorry for those that make decisions counter to the will of God. They are living for today.

I really don't see that I have any talent, but I thank you so much for saying so. I am glad you liked it.

As usual, this is a wonderful poem that you have created. I liked the flow and the rhyme scheme that you used. You are truly talented and don't ever talk youself out of that, nor anyone else!
