Hold on when you feel like letting go
when your life is falling apart
when your crying through a broken heart
when you feel alone and lost
hold on for another day, no matter the cost
when tomorrow seems gone
Hold on…
when your dreams are no longer there
when life seems impossible to bear
if you feel like letting go
when your tears begin to show
if you are scared right now
Hold on, somehow
when you don’t know what to do
Hold on you’ll make it through
when your life no longer seems real
when you no longer feel
when you’d rather let go
Hold on one more day, don’t let go
when sadness fills your life
don’t grab that knife
Hold on just for now
Live for the moment somehow
Don’t think of tomorrow, hold onto today
Take it one step at a time, okay
For you never know, the day you let go, might be too soon
might be the day everything changes, at the rise of the moon
But you would never know
If you let yourself go
If you accepted your fate, to be none at all
Deserving nothing, you let yourself fall
You give up hope, sick of trying
Nothing changes, still left crying
You are not alone, this world can be hard
Please pull through, You’re worth the fight
You can hold on, broken and scarred
Just hold on for another night
It’s like a rock you’re trying to split
It just won’t break, no matter how hard you hit
10 times, 50 times, a thousand times more
Why keep trying, you collapse on the floor
Frustrated, you feel defeated
Little do you know, one more hits all it needed
You finally gather the last of your strength, take one last blow
The rock splits, because you didn’t let go
So, Hold on, it gets better then you know
Hold on when you feel like letting go
Hold on when your tears begin to show

Author notes
This was half inspired by the song "hold on"-by Good Charlotte(hence the repetition). I wrote this going through a really rough time in my life. I wanted my readers to know that they aren't alone in whatever they may be going through. Life can be hard but to keep strong and you can pull through somehow. That although you can't see it right now but in due time all the effort and strength you built up is what makes the difference. Just because things don't change when you want them to doesn't mean they will never change. You have to just hold on. I wanted to inspire hope.

Well for an angel who fell you certainly jumped right back up.
This was one of the most inspiring works I have ever read.
"Hold On" never let go of hope!!!!! I believe that fully. Yes there is something better coming and if you let go you'll never know what it would have been. I felt as though I had the hammer in my hands pounding at that rock. You really pulled me into this piece, sign of excellence. We all have to hold on no matter how bad things may seem at the time. Wow, thank you so much for the emotions that just ripped through me reading this work of art and keep up the fantastic work. I have added you to my oh so large list that just keeps growing. LOL

This was such an inspiring and hope-filled write!I read it thrice just to let the meaning sink into me so that I would never lose hope It's one of those writes which make the person feel that even after the darkest of nights,there might be a very bright and cheerful dawn awaiting.
The song-like feeling it has makes it even more delighful to read and I loved the repitition of the words,"Hold on".....it's as of THEY themselves are holding the reader's hope....
I'm bookmarking it so that I can read it whenever I wish to and whenever I'm feeling low

OH MY GOD!!!!!!!! i cried reading your poem!! and that is hard for me to admit because it shows i have weeknesses and that is one of my worst fears, but i could'ent stop them. to be week and not strong is so ambarassing for me. and as i write this i'm holding back tears.tears of pain and regret and every thing i'v held in side of me for sooo long!! any way your probaly sick of my mushy weekness. so i'll tell you i LOVED your poem and go.

I like the end better. Nice idea, but I think some of your repetitions, like maybe "hold on" and especially "(don't) let go" get tiring. Except for that... it's be a great song. Thanks for entering.

wow this poem is excellent.....sometimes I too felt like letting go and honestly speaking, I did let go but after reading this poem I feel that we should hold on no matter what because like you said...the day you give up may have been the day that everything would have changed.

I disliked: the over repetitiveness of this work. I don't like reading the same thing over and over again. Can't you come up with alternate phrases? -
