Be careful what you say as words can hurt
when they are said it can't be reversed
no going back, for the deed is done.
No amount of apologizing can bring comfort.
I have hurt someone I care for but it's too late
when it's all said and done,
It's something I'll always regret forever.
We were more than friends, he was my mate.
I can't expect him to forgive me for the pain
but he does, as he says he loves me too much,
how can he after the hurt I have put him through.
His trust I must earn if I want it back again.
Listen to my advice, before you speak think first!
Before you hurt the ones important in your life
it's too late for me, but you can learn from it,
for once it's said it can't be reversed.

Emotional and Touching!!!
Yes words once out can not be taken back. Like wise often words are also misunderstood and strain a relationship/friendship. We have to be careful in saying things as well as how we interpret others words as well.
An emotional poem Jennifer but with lots of truth in it.

Truer words were never spoken...we all are guilty of speaking before thinking...I believe it is a "learned" desire when we control our tongue. I make mistakes everyday...and try to learn from them. If I were to live three lifetimes, I'd still make daily mistakes. Wonderful piece Jennifer...always a pleasure dear.

I really like the lesson this piece points out. People really do need to realize and hold onto the fact that words can hurt and no amount of apologizing or anything can take away how it felt hearing those words. I know this because I've had crappy things said to me recently that I just can't get out of my head even though I've forgiven the person. I'm sure many people have experienced this in one way or another. Thanks for pointing this out maybe it will give readers something to think about. I myself have to be careful with what I say. I've been on both ends. Thanks for sharing this

No it can't be reversed. Great words for us all to remember. And just to get that frienship back takes a lot of work and a lot of honest apologies and some deep introspection into why we said what we did. I've been there, but strive now to be a more honest and decent person. It takes a lot of work, a lot of patience, and a memory of what I've done in the past!
