She dances in a veil of silk,
her hair is black, her skin as milk.
She dance as midnights summer wind,
as one step ends the next begin.
Her hands caress her soul lover.
She dances for the moonflower.

Author notes
The moonflower is as far as I know an asian myth, and a flower that they said only bloomed in the light of the full moon.

I really liked the imagery and flow in this piece. Though, while reading I kept thinking of a show that used to be on Cartoon Network, Wolf's Rain...it made me reminisce. :]
Good job and keep on writing!

Beautiful!!!
Jim, Your words were few but your thoughts filled my mind as she danced in midnights summerwind. That was so beautiful and I don't know if the flower is a myth or not but, it must be a lovely flower as it created such a fantastic image in my mind.
Thank you for sharing this lovely work with all of us. Keep penning my fellow poet, you do fantastic work.

Bullseye!
Thanks, Frederick! I do come from Norway, and believe I decend from the bards of the kingdoms court, aswell as from bards of the druid society in what now is United Kingdoms. You catch the root of my poet soul! I applaud you, my friend! I'll keep an eye on your works, as I think we have the poet soul in common... -
One of the things that have been a time honored sign of a type of good, solid poetry is the author's deft ability to create the essence of something, like a finally honed scaple that cuts so easy to the bone! Many moons ago, when what is now Norway and Denmark, that "kingdom"'s court was reknown for the quality of its bards (granted many came from what is now Iceland) and this poet/creator seems to have such ancient bards' blood coursing through his veins (format/structure/length is of no concern here, its the material that seems to be so organic, living in its own produced self and being)! This poet/poem provides an excellent example of when a talented weaver of the the "word" can create a visual that is far superior than anything a "visual" artist may conjure up...the word as symbol use is such here that it has a multi-sensual, including an aural sense that has vibrations that, at times, nearly physically reach out and play the very sinuews and heart of its experiencer1

Thanks, Tinkerbell. I didn't know my words were that powerful.

Is it real?
Not a myth? Could you explain, please? All I could find about the moonflower was clues to that is was a flower from the myths... -
Picturesque
Thanks, Mermaid Faerie! But if it is as they say, that a picture is more worth than a thousand words, what's a poem that paints a picture worth? -
Right on!
Thanks evie28, that was the feeling I tried to convey...
