Alchemy of Human Metamorphosis (Free Verse)

Often quite resilient,
an air of resistance echos
Can anything good ever come of change,
a question always plaguing

The bitter sweetness of indifference,
shrugs such inhibiting cocoon off
Wings poised, always ready,
taking flight into uncharted winds

More than once a close casualty,
smothered in a blanket of selfish love
The cutting edge of personification,
began to meta morph from within

An almost surreal providence withstanding,
the transmutation of essence begun
Gone the barbed tastes left behind,
exasperating the emptied shackles of solitude

Soaring higher than ever before,
wings full tilt in the loftier drafts
A more esoteric form of self is born,
the alchemy of metamorphosis resounds

~Nikki~

Author notes

I hope the contest holder and individual in the pictures does not mind this in my collection titled Within The Enigma, for much I see in her I see in me!

Yes, the artwork on the border is mine!

Wow! You've done quite well nailing my ass to the wall! Next time could I get a kiss first?! LMAO! You were very intuitive on this piece. It rolls through my life many times, very true and accurate. I've been a casualty a few times LOL And to think you got it all from pictures is truly quite amazing. I'm speechless! Lisa

Fabulous job on this! Highly intuitive and picking up traits of her that many have not, deep within her, the pain, the fighting of what needs to be done to soar, the questioning of self prohibiting the ascension beyond mundane blurs of discontent. Yes indeed, you looked deep and well my friend. Blessings, Gypsy

P.S. The other two judges will be around to comment later to comment, we are having a get together tonight to judge, so good luck

    Rich & Passionate

Death of one miracle for the life of another...the founder of my hope and freedom...and the good is the enemy of the best. So where and when will I find my rest? On the plains of hesitation rest the bleached bones of those who thought that, but for a moment, they might rest...

Very pretty poem and artwork. Your poem makes the reader curious about who you are yet satisfied at the beginning of a hint of understanding. Understanding of a strong woman with love in her heart yet strength to stand alone. I enjoyed this write very much.
