Mountains

Missing image
Smiles
     stream across my face.
Laughter
      drips
          sweet tears upon my fingers.
I will hide no more behind bitter memories
that arose
          mountain tall
in the ranges of my mind.

You came along and
                      trickled hope into my life
Your soothing waters
                bathed
                        my battered psyche.
Simple words and praises flooded thru valleys;
Eroding brutal boulders
                                    and
                             fragmenting jagged peaks.

Small drops of your love
                    formed a mighty river.
You swept
        all vestiges of sorrow
                            from fertile lands.
Washed potent regrets across deserted soils.
To be lost
in the vacuous abyss of the sea.

I stand before you
                immersed in your love.
     Refreshed and renewed;
                                  life restored.
My soul sings your praises.

Do not doubt your worth my love…

                    For you
                          have moved mountains!

My friend, this is one of the most beautiful poems I've read since finding AP a year and a half ago! You've described with such beautiful imagery, and intense emotion, that wonderful feeling of finally having found that one that is the other half of yourself; the one that completes and fulfills your life. I have no doubt that this beautiful poem will be selected for the "Eyes of the Poet" book! Thank you, too, for taking the time to read "The Reasons." I appreciate so much your kind words! Again, this was a beautiful piece! Much luck in the contest!

Original poem - the phrasing was great. I liked those unique expressions like
    "Small drops of your love
    formed a mighty river."
Very refreshing. Good luck in the contest!

I love the structure of this piece and the amazing use of the vivid metaphors. Such beauty here, and such praise present that it's an exquisite poem to read. Perhaps my favourite part would be
    'that arose
    mountain tall
in the ranges of my mind'
And I love the bright and gleeful conclusion of 'For you / have moved mountains!' Thank you for such a lovely poem and the chance to read it.

I love the form of this poem. It is reminiscent of a stream flowing through a mountain range. It also has some great imagery. Keep up the good work!

interesting..different..the picture is very hippyesque...which, for some odd reason, was distracting...still, all in all, a good read. good job with writing this. enjoyed. good luck in the contest.
