My Deepest Love

You don't have to be beautiful. With the looks of a model or greek goddess...

You don't have to have silky hair that shines gold in the filtered, summer sun...

You don't have to smile with brilliant white teeth of ivory perfection...

Your eyes don't have to sparkle...

Your skin doesn't have to  be soft like that of a newborn child...

Or unblemished without spot or mark...

You don't have to smell of lavender, your sweet scent wafting through the house...

You don't have to be thin, with a body that curves in all the right places...

Your face doesn't have to shine with the radiance of an angel...

You don't have to be graceful, with a soft and tender step...

Or have a voice, sweet as honey...

You can be of average looks...

Hair dry and messy, with a faded shade of color...

Your teeth can be crooked, dulled by a diet of junk food...

Your eyes can be softened by viewing the harsh realities of life...

Skin rough and coarse, with calluses from hard work and dedication...

You can smell of the earth and the labor of your hands or of the good books you so earnestly seek to gain knowledge by...

You can be of a larger size, the warmth of your love sheltering and caring for me...

Your face can be faded by the experiences of your life...

You can stumble or fall, for only through the falls in our life can we grow stronger...

Your voice can be off key or waver from time to time...

Because no matter who you are or what you look like, no matter what your experiences or the personal weaknesses you struggle with from day to day, you are my perfect love and will remain so for the rest of my life. I'll never judge you harshly or treat you unkindly, and I hope the only tears you ever cry as we go through life are tears of joy and love because your happiness means more to me than anything else on this earth.

You are my perfect love and will remain so for the rest of my life...

Author notes

This comes from the deepest love within my heart to the woman I will spend the rest of my life with and I hope that I will be worthy of her.
