Should Be...

Should be...
Us holding hands.
Should be...
Us making plans.

Should be...
Me in your arms.
Should be...
Us in no harm.

Should be...
Only me in your heart.
Should be...
But she keeps us apart.

Should be...
You and I till the end...
Should be...
but its just pretend...

Author notes

Sometimes I just wish he'd forget about all his exs in the past and just take a look at what we have right now... Oh well... Everything in time, right?

Nicely done, Jessi. Seems that many of us simply refuse to get out of the past, projecting it into the future and missing the current moment. Some never learn this lesson, and some do. Don't let anyone else hold you back from learning it.
    Nicely done with this.

    great

you're right- he does need to look at what he has now. i do it too- I spend so much time clinging on to something that once was but no longer is.. I know you probably do it too, as well as he is doing. life manages to throw a lot of things by when we're staring into the past. I like this idea of this piece and the way you worded it. Good luck with him, sweetheart.. tell him he's going to miss whats coming if he's too busy looking back.
