21(Last Night)

A young girl turned twenty one
She partied all night long
Died the next day

She dreamt of that day
Her whole damn life
It would be the best night ever

She didn't know it would be her last
Her friends took her out
Celebrating her arrival to the drinking world

She knew she shouldn't leave with him
But the alcohol drowned out the voice
She didn't even know his name

They found her mutilated body the next day
One night of fun ended in death
A young girl turned twenty one

Author notes

When I wrote this I was kind of going along with the song that was in my head at the time...The song was "Ironic" by Alanis Morissette(SP)

Good write, I got the Alanis feeling out of it. The whole plane crash, two minutes too late thing. I'm a singer, and Ironic is one of my signature songs.. So, of course I thought of it. Dark write, but interesting. Good flow, good images.

yeah, i went through the tune of 'ironic' as i read it but it didn't fit. who the hell waits until they're 21 to drink? i was drinking guinness at 8 years of age, selling drugs at 12, robbing banks at 17, and by the age of 22 i was raping and mutilating girls in alleyways. you know what i'm saying? people just need to toughen up.
