Your Peace

Your face was so peacful
Moonlit shadows dance across
               your beautiful self
Tempting me to trace your features

So carefully with my fingers

Writing out the story of love
Found in your eyes
Spoken on your lips
Felt in your hair
Smell of your skin
Tasted in your kiss

But
I daren't touch you

To disturb this lovely picture
Innocence washed away
Replaced with virtue
On the night of your second chance
               so long ago

So I refrain

Only to emit a sigh
And let your angels watch
                         over you

Quite lovely. The essence is ethereal.

I thought this was wonderful. You captured all five senses in this poem, which appeals to the reader. Good job!
