I lose my thoughts in the dark blue waves
White caps come crashing down
I've had so much tragedy, so many accounts for loss
That I lose myself in the ocean
It will be my sleep
The final toss
I thought I could help you
Those nights we met by the sea
You understood the water
The significance it brings
But in the end you gave up
Despite all of my efforts
So I'm tossing out your memory
You never needed me
The sand goes out with the waves
My feet slowly begin to sink
I am much too lost in my own reverie
To notice this feeling of relief
I am ready to sail my ship
I am ready to finally be free
So meet me by the water
In the middle of the world
I'll hold your hand as we sink
I will become that girl
For you, I could be anyone
I will sing your songs
Meet me in the ocean
Devour me

Delve Deeper
"The significance to brings"...this one line tripped me over. Did you mean "the significance IT brings"? If you didn't, please guide me and help me understand your meaning. This poem has sufficient imagery, and the message seems to be clear enough. Could you go deeper? I know you have it in you.

oh little sister. How much I love you still.
one day you'll realize that things happen all around us
For reasons we can not explain. Don't lose yourself, I still need you. You can save me.
your loving sister,
Julie
