Sherebanu

S Shh... don't wake the baby, due

H He's wrapped up tightly, waiting for you

E Everyone is waiting, for something brand new

R Remember, keep patience, you'll pull through

E Every year he'll grow more, an inch, maybe a few

B Before you know it, you'll wonder how time flew

A And you'll look back at this precious moment too.

N Not wanting anything more, there's nothing to review

U Understand you'll be a new mother, Sherebanu.

Author notes

I'm so happy that there's going to be a new baby in this world.  I'm 19 years old and wish I could have a child of my own.  Last year I had to have a full hysterectomy so due to that I won't have my own.  This was a hard poem to write, not because it was hard to think about what to write, but hard in the sense that I know I'll never have my own.  Jealousy, I guess that's what you can call it lol.  Tell her I said congratulations.

About the poem.. I refered to that baby as a 'he' since that is what I always wanted was a boy, but if she is having a baby girl you can change the references to being a girl.

My name is Jessica.

I liked: the story. You had a very compelling story. I found it readable, anyway.

I disliked: how you create the letters of the acrostic independent from the a words that form the acrostic. This is very redundant and makes for a frustrating read. You don't need it there.

    Stunning

Jessica, this brought tears to my eyes. Absolutely gorgeous. I'm sorry for your 'loss'. Even if you do not have a child, I am confident you will be a wonderful mother to some child.
Again, I thank you. This was so beautiful!!
