The Best Birthday Ever

Missing image
Lil' sis is jumping for joy
big brother is coming home
he's coming home to the U.S.A.
where the buffalo use to roam

Michael serves his country
with honor and with pride
fights for peace and freedom
God is always by his side

A million hugs and kisses
will greet him on that day
missing him so dearly
since he has been away

A birthday gift for Ashley
she won't mind it's late
they will have another party
a homecoming to celebrate

The tears will flow like rain
as they hug him so tight
for now he is safe and sound
away from the war we fight

At home he is a true hero
in two weeks he must leave
returning to Afghanistan
for in freedom he does believe

Lord protect him on his journey
coming home and going back
protect all our brave troops
in Afghanistan and in Iraq

So welcome home Michael
Ashley is so proud of you
she talks of you so often
and all the things you do

So give her a big hug for me
because she is so far away
I am proud of my Ap daughter
she is wonderful in every way.

Awesome tribute to our freedom fighters. May the Lord be with them all, as they need Him, as those do here at home.

May the Lord bless and keep Michael; make his face shine upon him and be gracious to him; may the LORD turn his face toward him and give him peace. Amen!

    WONDERFUL COMMENT

Thank you so much for the wonderful comment. It was so appreciated. I told Ashley I didn't want any trophys that I was entering because of her dear brother. But the little bugger gave me a Gold anyway. She is sweet. I really enjoyed your entry and I sent it to my dear friend in Iraq who enjoyed it. I know your AP wife rather well. She is a sweet beautiful girl.

    Take care and God Bless

    Sandy

This poem made my eyes water. I am so proud of my dear brother. He means the world to me. I loved this so so so much. And you are so right. I wanna give him a big hug till his eyeballs pop out of his head. I wanna keep him here forever so I know that he is safe. But I know that he has to go back in two weeks. I'm gonna be sad and unhappy that he is gonna leave. But I will look at him with proud eyes and know that God will bring him home again.
I loved the part how you told him that even though that this birthday present will be late.. it won't matter to me. Cause that is so so so so so so so so so true. I miss him so so so much. And I'm so glad that he comes home in 2-3 days. He'll be here Friday. woo hoo!
Thank you so much for this. YOu have no idea how much this means to me.
    God Bless
    I love you
    ~Ashley~
