When you finally saw me in the same light
The one I held you in for so long
I was happy.
When you finally looked me in the eye,
A smile gracing your lips as you leaned in to me.
I was happy.
When you kissed me goodnight on the hand
After the only date we've been on
I was happy.
When your call at 2 AM woke me
And the words wafted quietly through my phone and into my mind
I was happy.
When you held me after all the fighting
And we pretended the world had fallen away
I was happy.
I can still feel the butterflies
I still smile when I fall asleep
I'm still happy.
Everything so far has fallen apart.
Let's sit around and wait
For things to fall together.
