Mom,
You taught me
to smell flowers,
to pet a dog,
to hold time
for only a moment.
Mom,
You taught me
to see people
for who they are,
not just what
I want them to be.
Mom,
You taught me
to see beyond
what most people see,
and to write
it for others like us.
Mom,
You taught me,
to grow up without
aging a day,
to love learning,
to seek wisdom.
Mom,
You taught me
all the most
important things
that only a Mom
can teach.

hi elvenfaerie, this is a simply crafted poem but nonetheless holds some deep and thought-provoking lines. I love "hold time for only a moment" and "grow up without aging a day". I read your profile and noticed that you are only 16. your maturity humbles me!
Good luck for the contest
